This place will rival any for its street tacos! The price is rock bottom compared to similar establishments. The flavors are authentic and beautiful. The tacos de carne asada, the al pastor, the Costilla (pork rib) are my favorite. I love that they have a salsa bar that is self service so you can decide how much cilantro goes on your taco. The variety of salsas is perfect, there are five different kinds. The salsa that is red is a bit on the spicy side so beware but the salsa verde and the avocado like salsa are delicious. There is a mexican tienda/store attached to the restaurant, in fact that is where you go to pay your bill. Great to find any authentic mexican ingredients or inexpensive produce. Try a "Gansito" while you are there, it is Mexico's version of the twinkle but tastier. Los 2 Compadres has become my new obsession.

Very bad. This place needs Chef Ramsey. The chicken on my tacos was like rubber. My husband had a beef taco: not good. refried beans were good, but that's pretty hard to mess up.

Very delicious and they say they seated me pretty quickly saying being that it's lunchtime and their salsa chips are really delicious I love the beings of the gig with you Mexican restaurants don't do that very surprising because that is one of the best things with chips the food was pretty good as well came pretty quickly and the pricing is great but those chips are so good

This place is legit Mexican food. The Carne asada has awesome flavor. The burrito is fresh and flavorful. The tacos are also great, just like the one's you would find in Mexico City on a taco cart. Prices are great as well.

Authentic Mexican, "normal food." Good quality, good service, low prices, but not rock-bottom, for that you have to go where the meats aren't as good or the veggies as fresh. If you are looking for corporate, this isn't it, but if you want honest Mexican food at a fair price, you won't be unhappy. Unusual for Pleasant Grove, they serve beer and wine. Sports on big screen or music, a good vibe altogether. If you've eaten in Mexico or Southern CA, you will feel at home, even in Utah.

Its probably a good sign when you go into a Mexican restaurant and you're the only one who speaks English. The Asada tacos are really good, the salsas are great but they are pretty hot so don't over do it, and the tacos are only .99 cents. You order and pay over in the grocery store part, just letting you know so you dont stand around like an idiot for 15 minutes trying to speak Spanglish to anyone who looks like an employee.

There's a wide variety of authentic Mexican food available at this little restaurant attached to a grocery store / carneceria. For years now it's been pretty much a local haunt for folks from Mexico who live here, for both the store and restaurant: I always see workers eating large bowls of fish stews with tortilla's and garnishes. But recently they began to advertise with a guy standing out front and a .99 cent taco sign, and non-spanish speaking people began to come. Today when I ate there I saw a typical PG family eating and some business people as well. I think the sign is working in terms of expanding their business into the entire community. The tacos are good -- there's a wide variety of meats, but all I've tried is Al Pastor and Carne Asada. I've also not sampled the fish soups that seem to be so popular with the men I see come in together who eat and laugh and talk in spanish. I need to amend that. Not the best tacos I've had but it beats all the fast-food places hands down.

I agree with the authenticity of the tacos here. I'm from Mexico and this totally gets the stamp of approval. The toppings bar is great because you get your food faster and then you can customize your tacos to your delight. The best part is the "buche" tacos, this is why I gave it 4 stars. Not only is the first place that I've been able to get them at but the buche meat was excellent. The tortillas are flimsy and are not too durable so it would be better with two but for $1 per carne asada taco I'm not going to complain.

as we drove through Pleasant Grove we noticed a man with a sandwich board peddling $1 tacos. I went in and ordered 4. then I waited for what seemed like forever, but was really just long enough to add 2 Compadres to Foursquare and Gowalla and check my email. the pork tacos were nice and spicy, but ultimately fell apart due to the lack of double tortillas. the beef was decent, but not entirely memorable. it also suffered from a sole tortilla per taco. not the best tacos, for a dollar each I suspect that I will find myself there again. I gave 2 Compadres three taco gnomes out of seven on tacoaday.com

Decent food for decent prices. We had 3 types of tacos and a Super Torta. The flavor was a bit bland as were the salsas, but were not bad in anyway, just ok really. The choice to put hot dogs on the Super Torta was strange, but not bad surprisingly.

If you want good, cheap *authentic* tacos, this is the best place to find them in Utah Valley. Lots of other options and you can customize your tacos however you want with several choices of salsa, onions, cabbage, etc.
